As we enter the Hebrew month of Av, we find ourselves holding two truths at once. On one hand, we are in the midst of the Nine Days, the solemn period leading up to Tisha B'Av, when we mourn the destruction of the Holy Temples and reflect on the hardships of our collective history. At the same time, Av carries within it the promise of comfort, renewal, and profound joy. Tradition teaches that from the deepest darkness can emerge the greatest light.
We’ll reflect on all that this month holds: sorrow and hope, heartbreak and healing, loss and celebration. Making space for the full spectrum of the Jewish experience together.
